Black titanium rings are increasingly starting to be the wedding ring of choice for men, and there are various reasons for this. Tungsten rings are another handsome choice that more men are gravitating towards. They also make fantastic wedding rings because they are extremely wear resistant and are about ten times harder than 18 karat gold, five times harder than tool steel and four times harder than titanium. On the Mohs hardness scale, tungsten measures between eight and nine, while the infamously hard diamond comes in at the highest score of ten. Tungsten rings are so hard that they hold their shape and retain a polish longer than other rings on the market; so much that they are often referred to as “permanently polished rings.” They don’t bend, they don’t contain cobalt which some people are allergic to, and they are typically hand-crafted with various diamond abrasives and poly crystalline diamond tooling.
